UNRC for Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu & Vanuatu delivers a message on World Humanitarian Day:
"On this World Humanitarian Day, which marks the 20th anniversary of the bomb attack on the Canal Hotel in Baghdad, the UN stands committed to continue serving the most vulnerable people in disaster-stricken regions and front lines of conflict. We remain truthful to the humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence. The Pacific region stands as one of the world's most disaster-prone areas. Together with our local and international partners, volunteers, NGOs, and national authorities, we have shown the importance and impact of collaborative approaches to face natural disasters and emergencies. This year, for World Humanitarian Day, the UN reiterates its commitment to continue working shoulder to shoulder with the communities we serve, no matter who, no matter where, and #NoMatterWhat."
